Performance, security and independence for your business

Themes and plugins written for your website, instead of a generic template propped up by dozens of plugins. You manage the content from an admin designed for you; we look after the code, the speed and the security.

Does your WordPress site feel like a patchwork quilt?

Slowness, fear of updating and designs you can't touch usually have the same cause: too many plugins and a generic theme. We fix it at the root.

Does any of this sound familiar?

  • Your website loads slowly and scores low in PageSpeed Insights.
  • You don't update your plugins in case something breaks.
  • Your theme won't let you make the changes you need.
  • You rely on dozens of plugins that clash with each other and open security holes.

Our solution is custom WordPress

We don't build websites on bought templates. We write the theme and the plugins your website needs, and nothing more. Less code means less to update, less that can break and a faster website.

An example close to home: Baqueiro's previous website, built with a page builder, loaded 24 scripts and 146 stylesheets on the home page. This one, with its own theme, loads 2 scripts and 8 stylesheets. And we manage it with the same independence you'll have.

[ Who it's for ]

Who this service is for

It makes sense when your website is a working tool, not a brochure.

Businesses that win clients through their website

Clinics, estate agents, holiday lets or professional services that receive enquiries, bookings or orders through their website and can't afford for it to fail.

Websites that grew through patches

Projects that started with a template, added plugins for years and are now slow and fragile. We rebuild them on a clean base.

Agencies with demanding clients

If you design and need someone to turn the design into a well-built WordPress site, see our agency solutions.

A WordPress platform with your signature

What we build in a premium WordPress project. The exact scope of each point is set out in writing in the quote.

  • An exclusive theme, written from scratch for your website
  • Custom plugins for whatever no off-the-shelf plugin solves well
  • A clear admin panel, adapted to your content
  • Custom fields (ACF) so you can edit without breaking the design
  • Performance optimization focused on Core Web Vitals
  • Security measures built into the code and the configuration
  • WooCommerce integration if you sell online
  • Training so your team can manage the content

A WordPress website isn't a cost.
It's your main marketing asset.

Many people see WordPress as the cheap option, but a badly built website ends up costing you in lost visits, urgent fixes and hours of work. Here's what changes when it's built well.

Performance that converts

A custom theme loads only what the page needs. More speed means better rankings on Google, fewer visitors leaving early and more enquiries.

Security and peace of mind

We keep third-party plugins to a minimum, as they're the most common way in for attacks. You can update without worrying the site will break.

Independence and full control

With an admin built for your content, you change text, images and blog posts without calling a developer for every small change.

Common questions about custom WordPress

How long does a custom WordPress website take?

It usually takes 4 to 8 weeks, depending on the number of pages, the features and how quickly content and approvals come in. The timeline is set out in writing in the quote.

Will I be able to edit the website myself?

Yes. Depending on the project, the website is managed with the WordPress block editor, with Elementor Pro or with our own visual editor, and we always show you how to use it before handover.

I already have a WordPress website. Do we have to start from scratch?

Not always. First we review what you have: theme, plugins, speed and content. We tell you what can be kept and what's worth rebuilding, and you decide.

How is this different from the WordPress packages?

Our WordPress packages have a fixed scope designed for standard business websites. Premium development is custom: design, features and integrations defined for your case.

Is hosting included?

We can work with your current provider or recommend one that suits the website. If your hosting limits speed or security, we'll tell you before launch.

What happens after launch?

The website is yours and you can carry on by yourself. If you'd rather someone looked after it, our maintenance plans cover tested updates, backups and small improvements.
