[B] Elementor Applied Filters

Removable active filter tags for Elementor — one click removes a single filter, keeps the rest, resets pagination. Fully styled inside Elementor.

Works with Elementor

[B] Elementor Applied Filters

  • Reads active filters from the URL automatically — no manual sync, no JavaScript state
  • Removes a single filter with one click — other active filters stay, pagination resets to page 1
  • Custom label mapping: map raw meta keys to readable names via repeater inside Elementor

What it solves

Show Active Filters. Let Visitors Remove Them. One Widget.

You built a filtered Loop Grid. Visitors apply two or three filters and now cannot remember what they set — or how to clear just one without losing the others. [B] Elementor Applied Filters solves that: it reads the active filters from the URL and renders a row of removable tag pills, each with an × button that removes only that filter and keeps everything else intact.

The UX Problem Nobody Talks About

You added search and filter widgets to your Elementor Loop Grid. They work. But the moment a visitor applies more than one filter, usability drops — there is no visual indication of what is currently active, and no way to remove a single filter without clearing the entire URL by hand.

On a real estate listing, a job board, a product catalogue, or a course library — users apply filters progressively. If removing one filter means losing all the others, they either give up or refresh and start over. Both outcomes hurt conversion.

Active Filter Tags, Fully Styled Inside Elementor

[B] Elementor Applied Filters is a native Elementor widget that reads active filter values from the URL, maps them to human-readable labels, and renders them as styled tag pills — each with a working × remove button that generates the correct URL to remove only that filter.

The remove logic handles single values, checkbox arrays, range min/max filters, and LIKE text searches. It correctly reconstructs the URL after removal, resets pagination to page 1, and cleans up the my_filters parameter entirely when no filters remain.

Every visual element — title, tag pill background, text, padding, border radius, remove button colour, and hover state — is controlled from the Elementor Style panel.

What It Does

  • Reads active filters from the URL automatically — no manual sync. The widget inspects the current my_filters URL parameters and renders a pill for each active value.
  • Custom label mapping per meta key — map raw meta keys to human-readable labels via a repeater control. Map “qtd_dormitorios” to “Bedrooms”, “preco__min” to “Price Min”.
  • Smart suffix detection — automatically appends “Min.” or “Max.” context for range filter keys ending in __min or __max.
  • Remove a single filter without clearing the rest — the × link reconstructs the full URL with only that one filter removed. Pagination resets. All other filters remain.
  • Handles single values, arrays, and ranges — works with text search, dropdowns, checkbox groups, and numeric range filters.
  • Configurable empty state message — shown when no filters are active, keeping the layout informative for first-time visitors.
  • Fully styled inside Elementor — all visual controls exposed natively in the Style tab. No external CSS needed.

Designed to Work Alongside [B] Baqueiro Loop Filter

This widget is the natural companion to [B] Baqueiro Loop Filter. Together they form a complete filtering UX on any Elementor Loop Grid page — search input, active filter display, and one-click individual removal — with no AJAX and no third-party filter suite.

Features

Visitors always know what is filtered

Active filter pills give instant visual feedback. No more confusion about why results look different — every active filter is visible, labelled, and removable.

Remove one filter without losing the rest

Each pill has its own × remove link that reconstructs the full URL with only that filter removed. All other active filters and the current page context are preserved.

Human-readable labels, not raw database keys

Map any meta key to a clear label once in the widget settings. Visitors see "Location: Porto" not "cidade_localizacao: Porto".

Every pixel styled inside Elementor

Pill background, text, padding, border radius, remove button colour and hover — all native Elementor style controls. No stylesheet to override.

Works with your existing filter setup

If your filters already use the my_filters URL parameter convention, this widget works immediately. Drop it on the page and it reads whatever filters are active.

Everything it includes

  • Native Elementor widget in the Baqueiro Widgets category
  • Repeater control for meta key to human label mapping
  • Automatic suffix detection: __like, __min, __max handled transparently
  • URL reconstruction preserves all other active filters on removal
  • Cleans up empty my_filters parameter when last filter is removed
  • Resets paged parameter on removal to prevent empty result pages
  • Array-based filter value support (multi-select / checkbox groups)
  • Typography group control for title and pill text
  • Border radius slider for pill and remove button independently
  • Hover colour control for the remove button
  • Works with Elementor Free — no Pro APIs used
  • Admin notice if Elementor is not active

Who it is for

Real estate listings

Visitors filter by bedrooms, price range, and location. Pills show exactly what is applied — remove "Price Min" without losing the other criteria.

Job boards

Candidates filter by role, location, and contract type. Each active filter is visible and individually removable — no back-to-zero frustration.

Course and resource libraries

Show active category and difficulty filters as pills. Let learners refine their search progressively without losing context.

Product catalogues

Display active attribute filters as removable tags above the product grid — standard e-commerce UX built entirely inside Elementor.

How it works

  1. Install and activate

Upload the plugin ZIP via Plugins → Add New and activate. Elementor (Free or Pro) must already be active.

  2. Drop the widget on the filtered page

In Elementor, search for "Baqueiro Applied Filters" and drag it onto the page — above or beside the Loop Grid, wherever active filters should appear.

  3. Map your meta keys to readable labels

In the Content settings, use the Label Mapping repeater to add rows: enter the meta key (e.g. "qtd_dormitorios") and the human-readable label (e.g. "Bedrooms") for each filter field.

  4. Style the pills

Open the Style tab to configure pill background, text colour, typography, padding, border radius, and remove button colours.

  5. Test filter removal

Apply filters on the frontend, then click × on one pill. That filter is removed from the URL, results update, and all other filters remain active.

Why [B] Elementor Applied Filters?

Compare against typical approaches to showing active filters

Aspect Elementor Applied Filters Other solutions
Remove one filter without clearing all Yes — each pill has its own URL with correct reconstruction Most tools offer "Clear all" only, or require Pro upgrade
Human-readable label mapping Yes — repeater maps meta keys to readable names Raw meta key names displayed, or custom code required
Range filter (min/max) individual removal Yes — __min/__max detected, each boundary removable separately Often shown as one pill, both boundaries removed together
Checkbox multi-value individual removal Yes — each array value gets its own removable pill Typically one pill per field, not per selected value
Styled inside Elementor natively Yes — full controls in the Style tab Custom CSS required or fixed styles from the filter plugin
Requires Elementor Pro No — works with Elementor Free Many filter plugins require Pro for the active filter display

Questions before you start

Does this work with any filter plugin or only with [B] Baqueiro Loop Filter?

It works with any filter system that stores active values in the URL under the my_filters parameter — the same convention used by [B] Baqueiro Loop Filter. If your existing filter implementation uses this URL structure, this widget works immediately.

What happens when the visitor clicks × to remove a filter?

The × link is a plain URL — no JavaScript required. Clicking it navigates to the same page with that specific filter value removed from the URL. All other active filters are preserved. Pagination resets to page 1 to avoid empty result pages.

How do I show a readable label like "Bedrooms" instead of "qtd_dormitorios"?

Use the Label Mapping repeater in the Content settings. Add a row, enter the meta key ("qtd_dormitorios") and the custom label ("Bedrooms"). The widget displays the human-readable label in the pill for that filter.

Does it handle min/max range filters correctly?

Yes. Filter keys ending in __min or __max are detected automatically. The widget appends "Min." or "Max." context to the mapped label — so a filter on preco__min with the label "Price" renders as "Price Min: 250,000". Removing it only removes that boundary, leaving the other range value active.

What about checkbox filters where multiple values are selected?

Handled correctly. When a filter key holds an array of values (checkbox groups), each value gets its own pill. Removing one pill removes only that value — the other selected values for the same field remain active.

Does it require Elementor Pro?

No. This widget works with Elementor Free. It uses no Pro-only APIs. Elementor Pro is only needed if you are also using [B] Baqueiro Loop Filter, which filters a Loop Grid — a Pro-exclusive feature.
